Tax Season is here! How to get the most out of paying your taxes?

Paying for income taxes can be quite burdensome. However, before you begin paying them, what if there are methods to optimize your payments and earn some miles or rebates in return? Let's discuss Ipaymy & CardUp.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Convert your tax payment to monthly GIRO payment via this link
  2. Schedule a recurring monthly tax payment on Ipaymy with payment date 25th of the month
  3. Use promo code "TAX2025" for Ipaymy and "VTAX25R" for CardUp to get a 1.75% administrative fee
  4. Use the either of the following VISA credit cards
    1. UOB Priv Visa (1.4mpd)

I choose to use my OCBC 90N Visa despite its lower miles per dollar (mpd) rate, because the spending on this card contributes to the $500 needed to qualify for the OCBC 360 Spend Interest rate. This way, I avoid any additional expenses solely to meet the Spend interest rate requirement.



In essence, we're effectively paying only 0.75% to earn 1.3 miles per dollar on your income tax, while also getting closer to qualifying for the $500 required for your Spend interest rate. Isn't that a great deal?
